Alexa Rendell has joined Sky Sports' Formula 1 team as F1 Multimedia Journalist, a newly created role, and will begin working at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix in Brazil this weekend.
The Alexa Rendell appointment places her across Sky Sports' social channels, live Formula 1 programming and Sky Sports News, with a remit to bring fans closer to the personalities, stories and moments around the paddock.

In the role, Rendell will report from across the Formula 1 paddock and from Sky Sports' live coverage, interviewing drivers, team principals and other key figures in the sport. She joins the team in Brazil for the final leg of the current triple header.
Sky said the position was created to reflect the changing ways fans follow Formula 1, with content aimed at both established viewers and people discovering the sport for the first time.
Audience growth behind the new role
Sky Sports has been the home of Formula 1 in the UK and Ireland since 2012. Since then, viewing among under-35s has increased by 120 per cent, while its female audience has more than doubled, according to the broadcaster.
Sky also says the 2025 season was the most-watched in its history. The hire is framed as a response to a broader and more diverse audience, with younger fans and women playing an increasingly important part in the sport's growth.
Rendell's broadcasting background
Rendell arrives as a creator, reporter and presenter who has worked across a range of motorsport, including Formula E, the FIA World Endurance Championship, Extreme E and F1 Academy.

Coverage and how to watch in the UK and Ireland
Sky recently agreed a new long-term partnership with Formula 1, keeping it as the home of the sport in the UK and Ireland until the end of the 2034 season. In those markets, Sky and NOW are the only places to watch live coverage of every practice, qualifying session, Sprint and Grand Prix.
Friday practice for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix is live on Sky Sports F1 from 3.30pm and 7pm.
