England ODI warm-up ended in a 92-run victory over Western Australia in Perth, with Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid returning to the side before the three-match series against Australia. Archer took 3-34 from eight overs and Rashid 4-35 from 7.3 as Western Australia were bowled out for 159 chasing 252.
England ODI warm-up
Archer had been rested for the ODI tri-series in Pakistan, while Rashid was overlooked for most of that tour in favour of Liam Dawson. Both returned in Perth and England dismissed Western Australia well short of the target, with only Corey Wasley (41) and Cameron Bancroft (32) passing 30.
Duckett holds the innings together
Ben Duckett top-scored with 59, building on his back-to-back centuries in the tri-series. Harry Brook made 27 and several top-order batters made starts without converting them into a large score. The wicket of Sam Curran for 12 in the 29th over left England at 150-6.
Lower order lifts England to 251
Will Jacks made 34 and Liam Dawson finished 44 not out as England were bowled out for 251 in 48 overs after winning the toss. Brody Couch claimed 4-47 and Lance Morris 3-29 for Western Australia. Dawson was left stranded when the innings ended.
Bethell still absent
Jacob Bethell was not selected for the warm-up as he continues his return from the knee injury that has kept him sidelined since July. A related report also says Josh Tongue has been ruled out of the tour with a toe injury.
Australia ODI series next
England face Australia in the first of three ODIs on Friday, with a five-match T20I series to follow. The warm-up came a day after Usman Khawaja said the entire Australia team knew about the ball-tampering scandal in Cape Town in 2018, for which Bancroft, Steve Smith and David Warner were punished.
