Manchester City prioritize Rodri contract extension
Manchester City are working to secure a new contract for midfielder Rodri. Despite the club's optimism regarding a long-term agreement, they remain on alert as Real Madrid continues to monitor the situation, with potential interest from other clubs also looming.
Premier League transfer activity
The transfer market remains fluid across several clubs:
- Manchester United: Joshua Zirkzee has emerged as a primary target for Juventus following the collapse of a potential deal for Randal Kolo Muani.
- Arsenal: The club is intensifying negotiations with Newcastle to finalize a deal for Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. Meanwhile, uncertainty surrounds the future of Vinicius Jr, who is reportedly absent from Real Madrid training.
- Chelsea: The club is evaluating the futures of Liam Delap and Emmanuel Emegha, both of whom are nearing potential exits. Additionally, Chelsea officials are seeking a transfer fee for Pedro Neto that reflects current market valuations for high-profile wide attackers.
Managerial and club updates
Elsewhere in the league, Everton manager Sean Dyche expressed frustration regarding the club's recent transfer strategy while praising the management of Liverpool's Andoni Iraola. Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has spoken candidly about his recovery from an ACL injury, which sidelined him during the club's difficult 10th-place finish last season. Additionally, Howard Webb has reaffirmed his commitment to diversifying the officiating pathway in English football.
What to watch next
Transfer activity is expected to accelerate as the season approaches. Clubs are balancing squad restructuring with financial considerations, particularly as the window nears its conclusion. Observers should monitor the progress of the Arsenal-Newcastle talks and any formal developments regarding Rodri's contract status at the Etihad Stadium.
